French striker Anthony Modeste will stay at Cologne for next season, despite offers from Chinese outfit Tianjin Quanjian, the Bundesliga club said on Wednesday.

"FC forward Anthony Modeste will not transfer to Tianjin Quanjian after the parties involved were not able to reach an agreement," Cologne said in a statement on their website.

"FC Koln reached the decision to terminate discussions on Wednesday. Anthony Modeste's contract with FC Koln runs until June 30, 2021."

The 29-year-old scored 25 league goals last season, finishing behind only Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski (30 goals) and Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (31 goals) in the Bundesliga scoring charts.
